General Description:
The map display hardware allows a computer central station to control lights on a map board. A large map showing the automatic flood warning system area coverage can be framed and mounted on a wall. Remote station locations are marked on the map with colored LED lights. The central station software will turn on lights on the map board when rainfall is detected, water levels rise or status lines change state. It will flash lights on the map board when alarms are detected by the system.
The map board lights make it easy to monitor the state of a flood warning system without using the computer. As a storm moves over the system, lights will turn on as rainfall is detected. When water levels rise or status lines close, stream station lights turn on. Different colored LED's can be used to mark rainfall and water level stations. When rainfall intensities or water levels exceed alarm criteria, lights will flash indicating critical points in the system. As the storm moves across the system, lights turn off and others turn on. As the storm diminishes, flashing lights turn steady and eventually turn off.
A map display interface can control 100 lights. The NovaStar system can manage multiple map display units for as many lights as are needed. |
