General Description:

Serial Multiport Adapters (cards) allow connection to several serial devices such as modems, auto-dialers and map displays. Central station computers are usually supplied with one on-board serial port. This serial port is not protected and can be damaged by voltage spikes. Serial Multiport Adapters add protected serial ports to your systems, providing more connectivity and protection. Multiple adapters can be added to expand the number of serial ports available. Each adapter requires a PCI slot on the computer motherboard.
