General Description:
NovaStar WebLynx Software is an Internet web page server that runs on NovaStar 4 and 4X systems. This server software will let users on your Intranet or on the Internet view your NovaStar system data with standard Internet HTML browser programs.
Create a home page for you NovaStar system with links to other pages on you system or any other system. Web pages are HTML files that display text and graphic images in a format that is easy for users to understand and work with. Include agency logos, scanned pictures, photo-art as well as data in your web pages.
Your web pages can be static or they can be automatically updated by the NovaStar system. Data reports, graphics plots or maps can be prepared at regularly scheduled intervals and inserted into web pages. Graphic or text images from other systems can be inserted or linked to your web pages.
Web page viewers can request data display on demand from your web pages. CGI scripting is used to create NovaStar commands from web page forms. The command response creates an HTML file for display on the user’s browser. Data requests can be for current and/or historic data.
Put links on web page maps to display station data when a site is selected with a mouse click. Station data can include data reports, trend charts, site photographs, or drawings.
This software package provides the web page server software, example HTML web pages, example CGI script files and NovaStar utility programs to create data reports, graphic plots and maps. A CGI script preprocessor utility program is provided to translate CGI request fields to NovaStar program command arguments.
We pages can be created using standard web page authoring software and then transferred to the NovaStar system for use.
The 5073NS-WL web page server software can run on the same computer as the NovaStar 4/4X system or on a separate computer linked with Model 5073NS-WAN Wide Area Network software. |
