MODEL 5062 : Remote Station Tester
General Description:
The HydroLynx 5062 Remote Station Tester (RST) is a portable "central site" and is
useful during installation, routine maintenance, and trouble shooting of remote sites.
The Remote Station Tester receives, decodes, stores, and displays ALERT formatted
data transmissions from remote sites which allows field technicians to verify transmitter
operation "on-site". The built-in Signal Level Meter also enables the technician
to verify radio frequency deviation.
The Remote Station Tester equipment includes the 5062 RST unit, a radio scanner,
an audio cable and a battery. The Model 5062 RST unit displays data on an LCD screen.
The screen is an 8 digit display; the first 4 digits are the device ID Number, the
next 4 digits are the data value. The Remote Station Tester stores the 20 most recent
data messages received. A sequence button allows the user to display the stored data
starting with the most recent message. The unit contains a field strength meter that
provides an indication of the transmitter deviation. This insures that the remote
station is operational after the site is completely assembled.
The Model 5062-RS232 Output Option, included in this package, allows the tester to
be used as an emergency backup for the Model 50386R/D Receiver/Decoder at the central
site. This configuration also facilitates troubleshooting faulty equipment at the
central site. Note: The Model 5062 Remote Station Tester is battery powered and is
not intended for permanent installation.
The Model 5073RST Display Program is used to log data received by the Model 5062
Remote Station Tester through the RS-232 output. The Model 5073 Display Program is
typically run on a laptop computer which displays transmitted data on screen and
stores the data on disk. |
