MODEL 5054 : Self-Reporting Rain Station
General Description:
HydroLynx Self-Reporting Rain Stations are complete packaged gauges which transmit
precipitation data on a real-time basis. This data provides knowledge of precipitation
patterns as events happen to improve runoff forecasts and control of water management projects.
The Model 5054 Rain Station includes a Model 5050P Tipping Bucket that generates
a digital signal whenever one millimeter of rainfall drains through the funnel assembly.
The digital signal input to the Model 5096-54 transmitter is translated into an ALERT/IFLOWS
formatted message and transmitted via radio links to the central site.
The transmitted message includes a station identification number and an accumulator
value indicating the total number of recorded "tips". The central site computer adds
date and time to the data and records the information in the central site data base. |
