It is very important to have the correct cable and connectors when assembling your computer central station equipment. When your central station equipment is ordered from Hydro Lynx as a system, we provide the cabling with required connectors.
RS232 serial protocol defines ports as either DTE (data terminal equipment) or DCE (data communication equipment). DTE equipment can be connected to DCE equipment with a straight through cable. To connect two DTE or two DCE devices, a null modem cable or adaptor is required.
